The free Tickgetr scanning app turns an iPhone or Android phone into a ticket scanner for your event. Scan the QR code on a Tickgetr ticket and see whether it grants access. There is no need to hire dedicated scanners.

How do you connect a phone to your event?
Open the scanner page in the event dashboard and create a temporary pairing code. The helper scans that event code with the app. Then approve the device individually in the dashboard. The code alone does not grant scanner access, so there is no need to share the organiser password with every helper.
Check tickets with multiple volunteers
You can connect several phones to the same event. Arrange reliable internet access at multiple entrances or queues so scan results can be shared between devices. Treat a ticket marked as already used accordingly, and agree beforehand who can investigate exceptions.
What if a QR code is hard to read?
Ask the visitor to enlarge the ticket and increase screen brightness. You can also enter the manual ticket code in the app. If a result is unclear, first check the event and ticket. An authorised organiser should handle any exception.
Test your entrance before the doors open
Install the app in advance, charge the phones and provide mobile data or Wi-Fi. Connect and test every device, not just the organiser’s phone. If a connection drops, other devices cannot immediately know about new scans. Reliable connectivity matters when checking several entrances at once.

Practical questions
Is the ticket scanning app free?
Yes. The Tickgetr app is free to download and use to scan Tickgetr tickets. Paid ticket sales have the platform’s separate pricing formula.
Does the app work with tickets from another platform?
The app is designed for tickets issued through Tickgetr. It is not a general scanner that validates tickets from every ticketing platform.
Can any volunteer scan immediately with the event code?
No. A phone requests access with the temporary event code. The organiser must approve the device first, and its scanner access must still be valid.
